War Eagle Cavern on Beaver Lake is pet friendly and offers guided cavern tours, gemstone panning, Moonshiners' Mystery Shack, Lost in the Woods Maze, nature trails, and more. Well-behaved pups are welcome in the cavern and on the grounds, everywhere except inside the gift shop. Dogs must always be kept on a leash and under control by their owners. Stroll along the shores of Beaver Lake to the spectacular natural entrance to the cave and follow a flowing stream deep into the mountain. Stand beneath soaring domes and see an array of formations, including fossils, rimstone dams, and waterfalls. After the tour, hike short nature trails, feed lake fish, pan for semi-precious gemstones, or explore the 'Lost in the Woods' maze. The cave tour is an easy walk: no stairs or tight places. Huge rooms with well-lit pathways. Cavern is open 7 days a week, early March through November.
