Cheesequake State Park

Cheesequake State Park review in Matawan, New Jersey

Description

Look out, I think there's going to be a Cheesequake! Surprisingly, the park is not named after an astonishing natural event where cheese falls from the sky. The name actually comes from the Delaware word for upland. At this park, you and Fido will discover open fields, saltwater and freshwater marshes, a white cedar swamp, Pine Barrens, and a northeastern hardwood forest. There's also a beach, but dogs are not permitted on it. Family campsites #23-27 and #37-40 are pet-friendly, so you and your pooch can stay for a little longer. If you're vegan, you may want to give this one a miss. The park is open daily from 8am until 6pm.
